Eating My Weight in Crap

And it feels SO good.

So far, since hitting the east coast I have consumed all manner of local delicacies. We are in New Jersey right now, and since arriving three days ago, I have experienced the following:

  • Dunkin' Donuts
  • Carvel Ice Cream cake (although they were out of Fudgie the Whale)
  • Subs (the real kind, not the shit that passes for them in SF)
  • Delicious, succulent, sweet, fresh Lobster with nothing but butter and lemon
  • Soft serve ice cream and lemon Italian ice at the Jersey Shore
  • Old school Italian
  • Real New York Cheesecake
...and I'm just getting started. We've still got Ithaca and NYC to come, which means there are still bagels, pretzels, hot dogs and, of course, Hot Truck to be had.

I feel so dirty. In a good way.

xoxo

P.S. My friend Brian just went to Michael Mina and posted a comment on the post I did almost 3 years ago. Clearly nothing has changed. He can't say I didn't warn him.

Please kiss New York for me; I miss my hometown. My brother just spent three weeks on the East Coast, and he said he had two Dunkin Donuts every single day. I envy him. Don't forget the bagels. And pizza. And chinese food where they know to put noodles on the table and get some duck sauce to bring home for me. You! I mean you.

P.S. There is a Carvel in Berkeley, and another in West Hollywood. I'm totally going to the one in Berkeley one of these days.

Ok - reading this has made me very deperessed.

I am going to michael minna on my birthday. seriously. because I have a large voucher I won in a raffle and I thought it would save us some money. I hoped it had changed after all the fuss in the Chron and I didn't think it could be that bad, but briany has got me worried now. Maybe I should just spend the voucher on a bottle of wine and then head for a curry in the tenderloin?

Maybe we wont have the tasting menu. heading to check the menu. Worried about my birthday...

My favorite doughnut, lemon-filled, or custard, or chocolate covered Dunkin' Donuts! Krispy Kreme don't know how to make a donut like Dunkin' does. It's pure bliss!

If you were in Matawan you could have made it to Federici's in Freehold for the best Pizza ever. Just ask for the "special".

If you were in Matawan you could have gone a little farther to Federici's in Freehold for the best Pizza Pie. Ask for the "special".
