Bummer. Luckily good eats are thick on the ground in NYC. And anyway, French Laundry still tops its interloper brother.
The chef is an ass anyway; not that that helps the matter, I suppose. Go to Le Bernardin instead.

I want to feel sorry for you, I really do, but since I know you've been to FL multiple times (3?) and just flew to Chicago for the sole purpose of eating at Alinea, and since NY has so many amazing restaurants, I'm tempted to clear my throat instead and remind you that life, after all, is not really so hard.

Great article but I can't make them OPEN on my anniversary:). They are going to be closed from 7/31-8/15...we could try to move our trip a bit, though...
Jon, my husband made a good point (not unlike Cat's) -- who cares? We've eaten the food at TFL, so we should go somewhere else. And that's why I married him.
