Survey

OK, I need some help here...

Is it totally fucking ridiculous to fly to Chicago for only 24 hours so that I can go to the Alinea one-year-anniversary dinner with my favorites? Or does it up my street cred. as the Restaurant Whore if I actually do it?

Answers soon, please (F you are not allowed to answer this one).

Oh and did I mention I will have just returned from six days in Washington, DC with 80 8th graders?

xoxo

This from the person who's going all the way to SPAIN for dinner? Go. You know you want to.

You won't respect yourself the next morning if you don't go. Get on that plane and whore it up. Just make sure you tell us all about it afterwards.

It depends on whether you'll be flying from SFO or Taihiti

OK, look, what if we got a cheap-ass room for Friday night?

It would be reasonable if you went to Aruns

Its not ridiculous...what is ridiculous is what Grant Achatz does with his food....but ridiculous in the good way.

Go. Eat. Have gratuitous sex. Drink. Taste. Luxuriate. Bite. Nibble.

and then stop by Vosges and bring home a lot of chocolate.

ps. if you don't have room for dessert I am going to kill you.

if all 4 of them are staying in the same cheap-ass room then Shuna's suggestion could be interesting.

Go! So I can know what to expect when I do a similar thing (will be there for 72hrs instead, but Alinea is one of the major reasons I'm going) in July! :)

This is from a person who organized a weekend trip for people from 3 states all for the purpose of eating at French Laundry, so you may want to take my advice with a cup of salt. ;)
