What Happens in Vegas...

That's right, I'm going to Vegas tomorrow. For two days only. Without Jon. Not nearly as exciting as that sounds, as I will be with one of my friends, who is pregnant AND vegetarian. But I'm going to shove some fine eats down my pie hole if it kills me.

If anyone wants to chime in with where I should go, have at it. My last visit was about a year ago, so pipe up with any new places I should know about.

xoxo

Go to Lotus of Siam: it's the strip a short cab ride away. Your vegetarian friend can get fed there, and you will LOVE it. Order the catfish if you can.

Also, Border Grill in Mandalay Bay is pretty good for veggie fare. Emeril's Fish House (MGM Grand) is great. Get an oyster po boy, dahlink. Trust me!

And finally, if I had just one meal to eat there, my first choice would be Rosemary's, which is also off the strip. It's supposed to be VERY special. E-mail if you want more details.

Damn, Sam, can't you cut a poor girl a break on her ONE "poor-judgment" crush???

I've heard really good things about Rosemary's, too.

Last time I was there (dating a Vegas-boy, natch), we ate a lot of sushi at this funky, tiny place off the strip. In fact, we even brought in the fish we had just caught in Mexico, and he served us a crazy yellowtail meal. Awesome.

Can't remember the name, now, though. Sorry. ;-p

I messed up Lotus of Siam.
Totally ordered the wrong things and was very disappointed.
So if you do go - make sure you order the recommended things only. The menu is so huge, it's difficult to deal with and easy to get lost in.

I read up a lot about Rosemarys and in the end decided it sounded not quite worth the journey away from the strip.
I spent weeks reading vegas food recommendations, totally mucked up my trip food wise, and all that shines in my memory is that Bobby Flay burger. See, Fatemeh sweetie - I think you might have a point.

Fatemeh, I swear girl, you have the most interesting past of anyone I know.

To all, I ultimately ate at only one place of note. I'll write about it soon:).
